We are pleased to announce Lewis’ has achieved Cyber Essentials certification

Keeping our own and our client’s data secure has always been a priority at Lewis’.  In August 2018 we published, under the news section of our website, “Your Security is very important to us” to warn clients of the possible cyber threats and provide a few tips on staying safe.

To satisfy ourselves that our ongoing commitment to keeping all the data under our control secure we have undertaken an independent assessment to ensure our systems, and data, are secure.

The Cyber Essentials scheme is backed by the UK Government and supported by the Federation of Small Businesses and the CBI.  The UK Government requires all suppliers bidding for contracts involving the handling of certain sensitive and personal data to be certified against the Cyber Essentials Scheme.

The scheme’s five security controls include:

  • Secure configuration
  • Boundary firewalls and Internet Gateways
  • User access control
  • Patch management
  • Malware protection

This achievement provides the assurance required that our proactive approach to protecting the data we control, against the ever-growing cyber threats, has been justified.  The external, independent assessment adds a further layer of validation.

The certification does have an expiry date, but we plan to reapply at the re-certification date to evidence our ongoing commitment to always stay up to date with the latest best practice in online security.
